The Marvelous Marriott Bonvoy Card now offers Platinum status

Huge changes are being made to Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant™ American Express^® CardThis is a Marriott Premium Personal Credit Card. The card adds many great new perks, including Marriott Bonvoy Elite Platinum status with no spending requirement of any kind… awesome! As you would expect, the annual fee will also increase.

Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant Card annual fee rises to $650

Let’s start with the bad news. Annual fee on Marriott Bonvoy Cool Card Increases from 450 USD to 650 USD (Prices and fees). This immediately applies to those who apply for the card now.

For those who opened their account before September 22, 2022, the new annual fee will take effect on renewal dates on or after January 1, 2023. So for a brief period, existing card members will be able to enjoy the new benefits without paying a higher annual fee amount.

The great Marriott Bonvoy card gets great new benefits

While the annual fee is on Marriott Bonvoy Cool Card Increasingly large, the card is also getting many new perks. There are positive changes when it comes to the ability to earn Elite Status, the value of Free Night Awards, and more. Let’s cover the details of what’s changing.

FREE Marriott Bonvoy Elite Status

The Marriott Bonvoy Cool Card Apply now Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite As long as you are a card member. That’s huge, given the benefits of platinum elite status, which include room upgrades (even standard suites), breakfast or lounge access on most brands, reward points, and much more.

This is where the status with Marriott Bonvoy really starts to gain value, and this is the easiest readily available path we’ve ever seen to Marriott Bonvoy’s elite platinum status. This will understandably interest many. Even if you’re not a Marriott loyalist, Marriott has a massive footprint, so standing with the group is close at hand.

25 Marriott Bonvoy Elite Nights per year

The Marriott Bonvoy Cool Card Now offers 25 Elite Nights per year (previously the card offered 15 Elite Nights). Now, of course you do get Bonvoy Platinum Elite status just for owning the pass, but you don’t earn Elite Nights that come with it.

So if you want to earn Advantages of Choosing a Marriott Bonvoy (Such as Wing Night Awards) or go to Titanium Elite by Marriott Bonvoy or Elite Ambassador Marriott Bonvoy situation, this can come in handy.

With this change, you can now earn up to 40 elite nights per year just by owning two Marriott credit cards, which you can earn from one personal and one business card – you can earn 25 elite nights with this card and 15 elite nights from Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express® Card (reconsidering).

If you are an existing card member, you may have noticed that 10 Elite Nights were posted to your account overnight. That’s because of this new feature, going from 15 Elite Nights to 25 Elite Nights.

Marriott Free Night Award of up to 85,000 Bonvoy Points

The Marriott Bonvoy Cool Card It now offers a free anniversary night certificate every year, valid on a property that costs up to 85,000 Bonvoy Points. On top of that, you can always get the Free Night Award with up to 15,000 points, to redeem on a property that costs up to 100,000 points.

This is a nice change, as previously the card’s free night certificate was valid at a property that costs up to 50,000 Bonvoy Points – that’s a big difference, and means you’ll be able to redeem this at more premium properties.

Spend $60,000, and Earn More Benefits of Choosing Marriott Bonvoy

From January 2023, there will be a nice extra incentive to spend money on Marriott Bonvoy Cool Card. If you make purchases worth $60,000 on the card in a calendar year, you will be able to Select Earned Choice Rewards. Specifically, you will be able to choose one of the following:

• Five nightly prizes in suites, each of which can be used to confirm a one-night suite upgrade up to five days prior to arrival
• A free night award valid at a Marriott hotel for up to 85,000 Marriott Bonvoy Points
• $750 off the bed price at Marriott Bonvoy

This is in addition to the choice benefits you typically earn for passing 50 or 75 elite nights a year. This can be a real incentive to spend money on the card, especially when you consider the opportunity to get a free night certificate worth up to 85,000 points.

Up to $300 per year in restaurant credits

The Marriott Bonvoy Cool Card It now offers up to $300 in statement credits per calendar year for food purchases at restaurants around the world. This comes in the form of a credit of $25 per month. This replaces The card was previously submitted $300 annual Marriott credit. In the end, this restaurant’s credit should be easy enough to make the most.

What does not change on the card

While there are a lot of changes around Marriott Bonvoy Cool CardThere are also many things that do not change:

• The points-earning structure on the card remains unchanged, as you can earn 6x Bonvoy Points on purchases at Marriott hotels, 3x Bonvoy Points at restaurants around the world and on flights booked directly with airlines, and 2x points on all other eligible purchases
• Could you Receive Priority Pass Select membership (registration required)
• You can have the TSA PreCheck or Global Entry application fee waived once every 4-4.5 years

Win 150,000 points with the amazing Marriott Bonvoy Card

If you are interested in taking a file Marriott Bonvoy Cool CardThere is a welcome offer for a limited time. Until January 11, 2023, the card offers a bonus of 150,000 Bonvoy points after spending $5,000 during the first three months.

Me personally the value Bonvoy points at 0.7 cents each, so for me that bonus is worth a whopping $1,050. And of course, you can enjoy the Platinum Elite benefits of Marriott Bonvoy when you redeem those points.

I changed my mind about the awesome Marriott Bonvoy Card

Wow, changes made to a file Marriott Bonvoy Cool Card huge. It’s really important that you can now earn Platinum Elite status from Marriott Bonvoy just by keeping a credit card.

Even with the annual fee on this card now at $650, I personally think the value here is a knockout. Just to do some basic “accounting” here:

• Most people should be able to take full advantage of the $300 annual food credit; This could be as simple as spending $25 a month at Starbucks
• I am pleased that the Annual Free Night Award is now valid on a property that costs up to 85,000 Bonvoy Points annually, with up to 15,000 Bonvoy Points being used to add, redeemed on a property that costs up to 100,000 Bonvoy Points; I easily value this certificate at $350, which is very conservative

The way I see it, these two features alone justify the annual fee. This doesn’t even take into account the value of Platinum Elite Status, 25 Elite Nights for status, Priority Pass membership, and more.

As a Lifetime Platinum Elite Member of Marriott Bonvoy, Platinum Elite status as such doesn’t add much to me. However, I welcome 25 Elite Nights for Status annually. Since I also have a Marriott business credit card, that means I earn 40 elite nights for status per year without actually spending a night. This brings me closer to earning the benefits of choice, which I greatly appreciate.
