Star Eric Braeden Reveals Cancer Diagnosis – Deadline

a long time ago Young and restless Star Eric Braeden said Friday afternoon in a video to his fans that he was recently diagnosed with cancer, but has managed to continue working on the CBS soap that he has starred in since 1980.

Breeden Post the video He revealed on Facebook the health scare, saying the diagnosis came after problems with his bladder and urination worsened while he was recovering from recent knee replacement surgery.

He said he wanted to be open about the diagnosis because “I think this might be good for some older guys who may or may not be listening to this.”

Bryden said he was diagnosed by a urologist at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. He underwent a uroplasty to relieve pressure on his urethra, during which the doctors also removed the cancer. Biopsy results later revealed some high-grade cancer cells, Bryden said, and he is currently undergoing immunotherapy.

The full schedule is not clear, but Brayden said in the video that he just received the second of six immunotherapy treatments last week.

“Now I’ve learned to listen to my body more, and not give it my best,” he said, adding that he’s still working out but on a modified basis. “So if you’ve seen me a little under the weather, yeah, I have been, but I’ll lick this. That bastard won’t get me, I’ll get it.”

Braeden played Victor Newman on CBS. Young and restless for 43 seasons, and nearly 4,000 episodes.

He concluded his message Friday by talking about his love for acting and the support of his fans, and his emotional impact.

“I’m still glad I’m able to go to work. I’m having fun. It’s my distraction. I love acting. I love knowing I’m having fun with people. I love your support — it means a lot.”
