Snow Canyon player Easton Oliverson is awake, speaking after emergency surgery for a head injury

A 12-year-old player from Utah, whose team is due to play in the Little League World Series later this week, is awake and talking after undergoing emergency surgery for a severe head injury he sustained when he fell from the upper bunk in bed in early Monday morning.

Easton Oliverson, who plays on the field and plays for the Snow Canyon team from Santa Clara, Utah, sustained a head injury when he fell into a residence located in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. He was flown to a children’s hospital in the state, where he underwent surgery.

Oliverson is no longer sedated as of Wednesday, and has been in touch with his family and doctors. Los Angeles Dodgers player Mocky Pets He sent Oliver a video offering his best wishes, and Oliverson was able to view it on Wednesday.

Oliverson’s father, Jess, said in a Facebook post on Tuesday that doctors told him his son had punctured an artery, causing a brain hemorrhage, and needed to have a piece of the skull removed.

“He had a very painful surgery to get to where he is, but the doctors are all really positive,” Spencer Beck, Easton Oliverson’s uncle, said. He told the Salt Lake Tribune. “All the steps forward have been good so far.”

Little League World Series officials released a statement Tuesday saying they have spoken with Oliverson’s family and are “happy to hear that his medical team remains encouraged by his progress”.

Snow Canyon, representing the Mountain District, is scheduled to play its first Little League World Series game Friday at 3 p.m. ET. Jess Oliverson is an assistant coach on the team.

Santa Clara was the first team from Utah to make the Little League World Series.

“While it’s hard not to have Easton playing there, they’re still from that community, and it’s still a historic moment for the state, for the little league and for our community,” Beck said. Encourage them and maybe they’ll have a little inspiration from Easton and they’ll go win it all. That would be great.”
