Season 7: Upcoming changes to custom training | Rocket Dory®

We are just a few days away from the start of the Rocket League glamorous Seventh season. Before we take a dip in the amazing variant of the Utopia Coliseum, we want to share some details about the changes coming to Custom Training on June 14th along with the game update.

We’ve read a lot of your feedback when it comes to custom training, and with this week’s update, we finally had the opportunity to make some much needed quality of life tweaks to the system. Read on for a preview of what’s coming!

Offer training package

With Season 7, we’re changing the way you navigate and progress through training packages:

Choose your path: Advancement in packs no longer requires you to complete shots in a specific order. You will be able to jump from one shot to the next, completing a pack as you see fit. Is this third shot causing you trouble? Go to the fourth shot, then circle again later. (We’ll explain more about this below.)

What a save! We’re adding an advance in the training package to save data, so you can work on as many shots and packages as you want. Make some progress, take a break, and come back later without having to restart packages from scratch.

Reset button: Completed the package you want to take a new look at? Not a problem. Tap Pause, and you can reset the progress of any training pack you’ve started or completed.

Shot Navigation and Shot Mirroring

We’ve seen what players (especially those on PC) want, so we’re introducing a bunch of Rocket League navigation changes. The controls for everything below will appear below the progress bar.

Next and previous shot: You can now move freely between shots in a training pack – no need to complete them in any particular order.

Choose a shot: A simple tap and hold will bring up a new dropdown menu allowing you to freely choose the shot you want to practice in the pack.

Random shots: Want to mix it up? Press the Shuffle Shots button to randomize the shots.

Snapshot Reflection: With the push of a button, you can reverse the shot on the other side of the arena. Working on weak side kicks and saves has never been easier. Reflection works in all arenas available in custom training. This may not always be the case when new arenas are introduced in the future, depending on shape, size, and other factors.

Menu and interface changes

With all the new functionality, we’ve made some tweaks to the menus and interfaces associated with custom training:

History repeats itself: In the custom training menu, a new “History” tab has been added next to the “Created” tab. The log tab functionality has been running in the background for some time now, so the last training package log should be filled in as soon as the game client is updated. You can also add any packages in the History tab to your favorites list.

Pause List Changes: From here, you can reset the progress of a training package, and you can also press End Training to see the progress of the package.

End of training: From here, you can jump back into the package, change to a different game mode, change the training package, or go back to the main menu.

Finally, two really important reminders:
