The Dallas Cowboys improved on their impressive run in Week 5, defeating the Los Angeles Rams 22-10 to go 4-1. Cooper Rush wasn’t the leader this Sunday, completing 10 of 16 passes just for 102 yards. It was the Dallas defense that dominated this NFC game.
The Cowboys came in on Sunday to allow only 15.5 points per game — which ranked third in the NFL — and have the second highest pressing average. That showed itself on Sunday, as in the Rams’ first campaign in the game, the Dallas defense stole the spotlight in a sure way, with Dorance Armstrong knocking out Matthew Stafford in third and one, and DeMarcus Lawrence taking the loose ball. He returned it 19 yards for the first points of the game. In the Rams’ next drive, Armstrong reappeared, blocking a kick, leaving Dallas with a fantastic field position.
Stafford completed 28 of 42 passes for 308 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Cooper Kupp showed up again with seven receptions for 125 yards and one touchdown, but he couldn’t carry this entire team to victory. The running game was again ineffective, with Cam Akers lunging 13 times for 33 yards, while Darrell Henderson received no load.
This game was fuel for the Cowboys hype train, but it would also force 2-3 Rams to take a good look at themselves in the mirror. Check back soon, as this article will be turned into a fast food article that delves deeper into what happened in Los Angeles on Sunday.
