Many have been anticipating the first PS5 game of Mortal Kombat 1 to debut this week PS viewsince Sony is a big player in the fighting game community and has been a longtime partner on Mortal Kombat 11. But no – the game’s world premiere will instead take place during Geoff Keighley’s Summer Festival Game Broadcasting on June 8th, it will be hosted by series creator Ed Boon.
It’s possible that PlayStation will show some sort of cinematic trailer for Mortal Kombat 1 during its event later this week, but since the game has already received one of those, it seems unlikely. This also suggests that Sony may not have marketing rights to the release, which was to be expected after it acquired the likes of Street Fighter 6.
Either way, this gameplay reveal will likely be a highlight of Summer Game Fest, as new Mortal Kombat games always look amazing. We’re excited to get a sneak peek in just over two weeks.
