Jay Leno returns to the comedy scene Sunday night, two weeks after suffering major burns in a gasoline fire.

The former “Tonight Show” host will perform in front of a sold-out audience at the Comedy and Magic Club in Hermosa Beach, California, according to a club spokesperson.

His doctor, Dr Peter Grossman, said the 72-year-old had undergone two surgeries to treat his injuries. Leno suffered burns to his face and hands.

His doctor noticed that Leno was walking around and making jokes during his stay at the Grossman Burn Center.

The hospital announced in a November 21 news release that Leno had been released.

“Jay will receive follow-up care at Grossman’s Outpatient Burn Clinic for burns to his face, chest and hands during a fire in his garage,” the statement said.

Grossman said he was happy with Leno’s recovery and was “optimistic that he will make a full recovery”.

The hospital added, “Jay would like to let everyone know how grateful he is for the care he has received and is very grateful for all the well wishes.” “He is looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with his family and friends and wishes everyone a great holiday.”

Leno is scheduled to perform three more shows at the Comedy and Magic Club in December.
