New York — Jacob Degrom Hit 10 in six dominant innings and Edwin Diaz He managed to save his 200th career, helping the New York Mets beat the Philadelphia Phillies 1-0 on Saturday night.

DeGrom (2-0, 1.62 ERA) allowed two hits and didn’t cut anything on his third start after spending the first part of the season on the injured list. He’s hit six hits, hit 28 and fired one in 16 innings so far this year.

“You don’t really know what to expect coming back, but last time I was able to look at a few things where I felt like I was going down mechanically and trying to make those adjustments while I was going through a really slow process that seemed to have paid off a little bit,” Degrom said.

Two-time NL Cy Young winner opened the game by hitting Bryson Stott looking for a fastball at 101.1 mph and then letting in a Rhys Hoskins single. After Alec Bohm started playing force, DeGrom encouraged JT Realmuto on three straight slides.

Degrom hit 28 of the 56 hitters he’s faced this season. The 50% strike percentage is the highest by any bowler during his first three starts of the season since the pile moved to its current distance in 1893, according to ESPN Stats & Information research. DeGrom retained the previous top, with 48.6% of hitters to start last season.

“He’s doing a great job,” Diaz said. “He can do whatever he wants with the hitters.”

With the win, Degrom improved to 9-1 on 20 career starts against Velez.

Alonso’s house Hit one early by the RBI as the NL East leaders improved to 31-9 after losing and 10-4 in the season series with Philadelphia. Alonso leads the NL with 97 RBIs.

Diaz released two rallies in the ninth, and Philadelphia was a rider in the second and third when Nick Castellanos Swinging for the final hit outside. This was the 27th time that Diaz had saved this season.

“The star of the show was our crew,” Alonso said.

Philadelphia has missed a great performance before Aaron Nola (8-9) which allowed four hits in eight runs. He hit the right-hander eight times and walked in one, but has fallen to 0-3 in four games against New York this year.

He finished The Phillies with three strokes.

New York jumped out on top at the start. Starling Mart Singles, he stole second place and took third in a foul by Realmuto before scoring with Alonso’s soft song on the right.

After Alonso’s injury, Louis Gillorm And Jeff McNeil had consecutive singles per second. Nola retired 17th in a row before McNeil started eighth with the walk.
