Five Iranians on a Venezuelan flight have been arrested in Argentina

The relationship between Nicolas Maduro’s government and Iran has been reaffirmed by a case that has kept Argentine officials confused and vigilant. Last weekend, a Boeing 747-300M, with YV3531 registration, flew the Venezuelan flag, mobilizing five Iranian citizens, according to foreign intelligence agencies.

EL TIEMPO investigated and established that the plane was spotted near Providence (Colombia) on June 4, according to international sites. It then sailed from Santiago de Guerrero, Mexico to Micvedia, Venezuela, on Sunday, June 5, at 8:11 p.m.

He arrived in the country on June 6 at 12:40 p.m. The sites did not book the flight to Argentina, but it ended up there. In addition, he built the Caracas-Tehran route on May 21, and is known to have landed in Moscow on May 25 after he flew over Azerbaijan.

Iranian Revolutionary Guard

“After entering (Argentina), organizations affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards received information from foreign organizations warning them that they were part of a group,” Argentine Defense Minister Anibal Fernandez said on Monday.

Unofficial sources confirm that the device is affiliated with Emtrasour, a subsidiary of Venezuelan airline Conviasa, against which the US Treasury Department has imposed sanctions.

The other Iranians arrested were Mohammed Kosrawiarak, Mahdi Moussali, Saeed Wali Jade and Abdolbashet Mohammed.

For now, the Iranians, who are staying at a hotel near Plaza Central Canning Airport, have had their fingerprints taken to verify their identities against Interpol databases.
