AMD Ryzen 7000 3D V-Cache CPUs are rumored to come in 8 and 6-core flavors, the A620 chipset, and next-generation APUs planned for mid to late 2023

AMD Ryzen 7000 CPU Rumors: 3D V-Cache Chips in 8/6 Core Flavors, A620 Chipset & Next-Gen APUs In 2023 2

AMD’s Ryzen 7000 CPU family will be expanded further in 2023 with the release of 3D V-Cache parts along with the entry-level A620 chipset.

AMD Ryzen 7000 CPU rumors: 3D V-Cache chips in 8/6 core flavors, A620 chipset, next generation APUs in 2023

according to Enthusiastic citizen of Bilibili, dropout She mentioned that AMD has three major products planned for 2023.

AMD Ryzen 7000 3D V-Cache with 8 and 6-core flavors

The first and most obvious was the Ryzen 7000 3D V-Cache suite that was confirmed By us it will be unveiled at CES 2023. It is reported that the lineup will consist of only two parts, an octa-core and 6-core variant. So it looks like we’ll get more or less Ryzen 7 7800X3D and Ryzen 5 7600X 3D. These CPUs will offer a 3D stacked chip design, feature more SRAM and provide users with higher gaming performance in cache-intensive titles. The result will be similar to a first-generation V-Cache chip, Ryzen 7 5800X3Dwhich has become a popular chip due to its amazing performance and great value.

APUs on AM5 and Ryzen 7000G planned for late 2023

AMD won’t stop at 3D V-Cache parts, later in 2023 there’s a next-generation AM5 Desktop APU set planned. This set will also fall into the Ryzen 7000 ‘G’ series family but is expected to be launched in the second half of 2023. Currently, there is no information available on what these chipsets will offer but since they will be compatible with the AM5 platform, this is likely a variation on Phoenix Point (Zen 4 + RDNA 3) APUs Shipping to mobile phones will begin in the first half of the year.

One interesting piece of information shared is that these Ryzen 7000 chips will only support DDR5-4800 memory which is a bit weak since the APUs require all the bandwidth they can get. The chips will be available in 8 and 6-core flavors as well and there is talk of improved models as well although no information has been provided yet.

A620 taking the AM5 to the entry level

Finally, there is an update to the A620 chipset platform. So far, AMD has confirmed the X670 and B650 chipsets, but the leaker states that the A620 chipset will be announced around the second quarter of 2022 and will not provide support for CPU overclocking. An entry-level platform would make sense with non-X, low-end Ryzen 3 chips if AMD were to launch it. This might solve the AM5 platform’s high price issue, but given how restrictive the entire A620 chipset platform is, it wouldn’t make sense to use these motherboards if you plan to take advantage of the longevity of the AM5 ecosystem.
