AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D benchmarks for desktop CPU leak, synthetic workloads show little or no improvement

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D benchmarks for desktop CPU leak, synthetic workloads show little or no improvement

Features AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU benchmarks Leaked again And this time, we’re looking at a retail segment acquired by XanxoGaming.

Leaked AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU benchmarks show no significant improvement over synthetic workloads

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D It will be the first and only chipset with 3D V-Cache based on 7nm Zen 3 core architecture. The CPU will provide 8 cores, 16 threads and 100MB of onboard cache thanks to its additional 64MB 3D Stacked SRAM design. Clock speeds will be maintained at a base of 3.4GHz and 4.5GHz with a TDP of 105W.

As for pricing, the CPU will have the same MSRP as the 5800X at $449 which means the non-3D chip will drop its price to $399 or less. Pricing makes the 5800X3D more expensive than the Intel Core i7-12700K which offers more cores/threads but less cache. It will be interesting to see the performance benchmarks between the two tranches.

According to the source, the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU was acquired from a Peruvian retailer that sold it for 2,062.50 Nuevos slippers or about $550 USD. Chip tested on X570 AORUS Master (F36C v1.2) motherboard, 2x 8GB G.Skill FlareX DDR4-3200 (CL14 Samsung B-die), GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FE platform. Windows 10 (21H2) was used as the operating system and it is known that the performance will not be different across Windows 10 and 11.

What’s interesting is that the source decided to look at non-gaming synthetic workloads first for a segment with the most promising gains around gaming. A set of benchmarks including Cinebench R23, Geekbench 5, CPU-z, and Blender were used.

On the Cinebench R23, the CPU scored 1493 points in the single-core and 15,060 points in the multi-core tests. Our AMD Ryzen 7 5800X is about 2% faster in multi-threading and 5% faster in single-thread performance on the same benchmark. Next up is Geekbench 5 where the chip scored 1,639 points in the single tests and 10,498 points in the multi-core tests. Here, the standard 5800X is 2% faster in single-threaded performance and 12% faster in multi-threaded performance. On CPU-z, the chip scores 617 points in the single tests and 6505 points in the multi-core tests. Unsurprisingly, the Ryzen 7 5800X outperforms the 3D segment by 8% and 7% in multi-core and single-core benchmarks.

In Blender, we can only compare the performance in the BMW scene since that is A reference test that we use in our own tests. The Ryzen 7 5800X3D finishes with a display time of 166 seconds while the standard chip completes the scene in 146 seconds. That’s 20 seconds looped without the extra 3D cache. 14% advantage for the non-3D part.

Once again, these benchmarks prove that synthetic workloads are not the strongest for an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU. The main performance differences will appear in the games for which the source will provide benchmarks tomorrow.
