The Mega Millions jackpot has risen to an estimated $1.1 billion after no tickets matched the winning numbers in Friday night's drawing.
The winning numbers drawn on Friday night were 3, 8, 31, 35 and 44 with a Mega Ball worth 16. The Megaplier was 3X.
While no one won the estimated $977 million jackpot on Friday night, five players — in California, Florida, Illinois, Nebraska and Texas — matched all five white balls to win $1 million, and one player in Virginia matched all five white balls and a Megaplier to win $3. million.
The next Mega Millions drawing will be held on Tuesday where players will try to win the estimated $1.1 billion jackpot, which carries a cash option of $525.8 million.
Winners typically choose the cash prize over Mega Millions annuities paid as one instant payment followed by 29 annual payments.
The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 302,575,350, depending on the game.
The Mega Millions jackpot was last won on December 8, when two winners in California matched all six numbers to claim the $395 million prize.
A jackpot of $1.602 billion has been won In Florida on August 8, 2023. This prize is the largest lottery in the world ever won with a single ticket.
The current jackpot of $1.1 billion is the fifth-largest the game has ever offered.
Mega Millions is played in 45 states plus Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Deadline to purchase a ticket is 9:45pm on drawing nights.
