Lacey Evans was a hot topic on the Internet this morning, and it wasn’t because Her latest design in WWE.
Instead, Evans was criticized for a clip from a file Critical Health News Video posted on it Her Instagram Story. The film features Joel D. Wallach, a veterinarian turned “physiotherapist” who was Accused To sell homeopathic remedies in multilevel marketing schemes, discussing autism and attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder. The video highlights Walla falsely claiming that ASD and ADHD “didn’t exist” when he was a child (According to the Centers for Disease Control and Preventiondiagnoses of autism spectrum disorder rose from 1 in 150 children at the turn of the 21st century to 1 in 59 children by 2014, but while many possible contributing factors have been identified, researchers don’t yet know what causes autism spectrum disorder exactly).
When fans and members of the media questioned Evans’ spreading of the conspiracy theory – which uses a Real study at the University of Central Florida Linking food preservatives containing propionic acid (PPA) to potential precursors of autism which the authors acknowledge is “only the first step towards [a] better understanding of [ASD]”, which many different neuroses and their loved ones consider offensive and potentially dangerous Evans initially advocated doing so. She quoted criticism on Twitter from Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, but later deleted it.
Fans also noted that Evans liked tweets that made fun of those who criticized her.
Evans has not yet engaged in any kind of meaningful dialogue with people who question her decision to share Wallach’s video, or say they were harmed by her decision to do so. Nor has she responded to any of the people who have indicated that she has been involved in promoting processed foods in the past.
WWE has not commented, and probably never will. Still, it will be interesting to see how that affects Evans’ latest installment, and the fan reception of it.
