Prince Archie and Princess Lilliput will not be HRH, and Meghan and Harry are said to be angry.

Prince Archie and Princess Lilliput will not be HRH, and Meghan and Harry are said to be angry.

In what may be the ultimate in first world troubles, King Charles is not expected to bestow His Highness the honour Harry and Meghan Markle Children, but they will become a prince and princess, reportedly.

The Sun Reports The new arrangements, which will formalize the names of Prince Archie and Princess Lilliput, are expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks.

According to a custom that began in 1917, the descendants of the king are given the titles of prince or princess. Great-grandchildren are not, but there is an exception for the grandchildren of the heir to the throne, which is why the Cambridge children are known as Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

That is why students of the unscripted British conference declared that Megan was wrong when she said in her interview with Oprah Winfrey that her children were unfairly denied the title.

However, if they weren’t given the titles now that their grandfather had become king, she would be proven completely right. And her proponents will probably say, that’s what I meant all along.

There is no doubt that under the 1917 rules, their children should automatically become HRs.

Likewise, there are few denials that it would be too strange for Archie and Lilibet to publicly use the nickname HRH when their parents are told not to, and they agreed to that request.

King Charles’ office declined to comment on the report submitted to the Daily Beast. The Sussex office has been contacted for comment.

However, the Sun He says the decision not to create Archie and Lilibet as His Royal Highness or Her Royal Highness (HRHs) has incensed the children’s parents.

The Sun A source was quoted as saying: “Harry and Meghan have been concerned about the security issue and being a prince and princess brings them the right to certain levels of royal security. There has been a lot of conversation over the past week. They insisted Archie and Lillibet are a prince and a princess. They’ve been tough since The Queen’s death. But they were angry that Archie and Lillibet couldn’t take the title of HRH. That’s the deal – they can be princes and princesses but not HRH because they don’t work as royals.”

Of course, there are plenty of other non-working royals who are HR owners. Prince Andrew’s daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie come to mind.

If the palace now wants to change the rules, going forward, to restrict the issuance of His Royal Highness to “the royal family” rather than to the king’s descendants, it is of course entitled to do so. But this would represent a major shift.

And the only people who would lose out (at least until Louis and Charlotte had children) would be Harry’s children.

Not good looking.
