Zumtobel reports that its work with two interdisciplinary collaborations will be shown at ORGATEC from October 23 – 27 in Cologne, Germany. First, Zumtobel products will be showcased as part of the “Work to go” exhibition in which companies have joined to support the implementation of new concepts in the workplace of the future. Architectural design firm AIT-Dialog initiated this project that shows off designs for autonomous and location-independent working environments.
Aimed primarily at architects, planners and experts in office equipment, the schedule offers guided tours, workshops, impulse lectures, keynote talks, and podium discussions. Renowned companies including Bolia, Microsoft, Sodexo, Steelcase, and Viccarbe have joined Zumtobel in this initiative. Zumtobel will cooperate with varied partners that are committed to thinking about the future of working and how to support new spatial concepts, according to Manfred Petschulat, Zumtobel Group’s marketing director for Germany. “We are proud that Zumtobel is part of this project and that we can make a real contribution to the ground-breaking nature of this event,” Petschulat said.
“Office worlds and light”: a joint presentation ORGATEC from Zumtobel and EasternGraphics
The planning processes for core design elements such as furniture, acoustics, and light are becoming ever more closely linked. Now EasternGraphics, a provider graphical 3D planning solutions, plans to use their ORGATEC stand to focus on the use of light in indoor designs. Zumtobel will present the exhibition’s central theme of “office worlds and light”, and will provide the lighting for the entire exhibition stand.
The Austrian lighting specialist Zumtobel intends to use its own portion of the booth to unveil and showcase new product and system solutions. According to Zumtobel, visitors to the booth can control the TEELA pendant fitting, part of the special collection that Zumtobel launched in 2016, using Bluetooth and tunableWhite technology via the basicDIMwireless app from Zumtobel Group Services (ZGS). Also, Zumtobel says that attendees can experience first hand the lighting comfort of the LINETIK free-standing LED luminaire.
“We value EasternGraphics as an important partner in the office furniture sector. The various shared touch points and synergies have laid the foundations for a successful long-standing partnership,” explained Bert Junghans, head of lighting solutions & concepts in Atelier of Light at the Zumtobel Group.
EasternGraphics and Zumtobel Work on Creating Design Software Incorporating Lighting
EasternGraphics and Zumtobel are collaborating to develop software packages that actively support lighting design and project processes. Furthermore, the EasternGraphics data platform already includes information about 140 Zumtobel luminaires.
With the help of specially developed lighting simulation software, which is integrated into the EasternGraphics interior design pConPlanner program, real-time 3D simulation and virtual reality (VR) tours can give customers a 3D view of a proposed project.
Also with the pConPlanner program, users can receive live updates with suggestions for furniture and lighting solutions on computers and other networked devices. And Thanks to the new mobile apps, visitors will get the chance to test the products and directly incorporate them into a spatial design concept through the simulation program.
A prototype of a jointly developed graphical configurator will also be previewed at ORGATEC. The joint EasternGraphics / Zumtobel stand can be visited virtually at https://vivaldi.zumtobel.com/data/360/Orgatec_Fair/
