Tridonic has introduced a new software solution for driver configuration the company aptly names deviceConfigurator.
The company contends that software allows customers to edit driver settings while reducing programming errors. The application can configure Tridconic’s EXCITE and PREMIUM drivers. The software also supports the company’s DALI USB interface and the ready2mains programmer.
According to Tridonic, deviceCONFIGURATOR optimizes work processes, helps make configuration processes more efficient during production, and ensures that production employees can easily and precisely write the correct driver settings into the luminaire and helps make configuration operations more efficient during production.
deviceCONFIGURATOR features three functions that support error reduction: A traffic light function provides direct feedback on configuration status, giving verification for each work step. In addition, barcode scanning ensures secure driver identification. DALI also offers optional verification of the written parameters.
The software employs password protection for scripts, thus preventing alteration during production. This script security feature offers an additional layer of protection for the proper configuration.
deviceCONFIGURATOR can set the following parameters, amongst others: current, constant light output, chronoSTEP, corridorFUNCTION, chronoSTEP, DC level for emergency lighting, the GTIN or item number of the luminaires.
“As partners, we provide integrated support to our customers during configuration and commissioning of lighting solutions. Starting today, deviceCONFIGURATOR is now offered as part of our wide service portfolio. The application helps our customers to program drivers efficiently and quickly while avoiding errors,” said Klaus Mohr, Product Manager Controls at Tridonic.
