| Cree Introduces Higher Brightness Color LEDs in XP Footprint May 22, 2013...Cree, Inc. of Durham, North Carolina USA, has announced commercial
availability of XLamp® XP-E2 color LEDs. According to Cree, the new XP-E2 color
LEDs deliver up to 88 percent higher maximum light output compared to
alternative high-power color LEDs. Cree says that this higher maximum light
output enables lighting manufacturers to more cost-effectively address a wide
spectrum of applications such as architectural, vehicle and display lighting.
Cree's new XLamp XP-E2 color LEDs are available in red,... Luminus Devices to Supply Big Chip LEDs for Vision X Lighting’s Long Throw Spot Lighting ApplicationsApril 30, 2013...Luminus Devices, Inc. a maker of big chip LEDs and Vision X Lighting
announced a strategic partnership to develop and produce LED technology for
lighting applications that are currently dominated by High Intensity Discharge
(HID) lamp technology. The companies expect that the collaboration between
Luminus, a producer of high brightness LEDs, and Vision X Lighting, a supplier
of aftermarket automotive lighting fixtures, will create a new class of LED
lighting products with the power and punch... Osram Opto Semiconductors Now Offering Duris P 5 mid-power LEDs in ColorApril 25, 2013...Osram Opto Semiconductors, has come out with five color new versions of the
Duris P 5 mid-power LEDs. Like the white versions, the new color versions are
said to have high luminous efficacy from a compact form factor. The LEDs are
ideal for architecture lighting and for hotels and restaurants.
The five color versions of Duris P 5 are: “deep blue” (450 nm),
“blue” (470 nm), “true green” (528 nm),
“yellow” (590 nm) and “red” (615... Samsung Introduces New, High Efficacy Chip on Board LED PackagesApril 23, 2013...Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., has introduced a new 129lm/W high efficiency, chip-on-board (COB) family of LED packages, LC013/26/40B. The LC013/26/40B series features a compact light emitting surface (LES), designed for use in high performance indoor and outdoor lighting, and ideally suited for spotlight applications.
The series, features a 129lm/W light efficacy at 80 CRI (Color Rendering Index) and 5000K CCT (Correlated Color Temperature) and is available in 2700K, 3000K and 4000K... Philips Launches High Power Luxeon Z ES Micro-Mini LEDApril 17, 2013...Philips has introduced it newest high-power emitter, the Luxeon Z ES. The
Luxeon Z ES offers extremely high color consistency through a 1-step MacAdam
ellipse in warm white color options. It has a micro-footprint, undomed design
and full spectrum availability. The company says it enables high lumen density
solutions with precise optical control. It is ideal for applications such as
retail, where superior beam angles and high efficacy are crucial. Philips
contends that the illumination-grade emitters... Osram Adds White Multi-Chip Ostar Stage LED to Spotlight RangeApril 3, 2013...Osram Opto Semiconductors has added the Osram Ostar Stage LEDs. The LEDs
with a low profile design and a glass cover provide 390 lumens in cold white
(10000K) and 210 lumens in warm white (2700K). The low profile and high
brightness, along with the anti-reflective coating provide the basis for
compact spotlights with an extremely narrow beam.
According to the company, these LED packages with four LED di in each are
ideal for use in moving... Cree Introduces XLamp XQ LEDs Delivering Breakthrough Size and Light DistributionMarch 28, 2013...Cree, Inc. has introduced the XLamp® XQ LEDs, featuring a unique combination
of small size, novel light distribution and high reliability design. These
features enable applications that require broader light distribution such as
omni-directional lamps and fixtures. The XQ LEDs are Cree’s smallest lighting-class LEDs at just 1.6mm x
1.6mm, 57 percent smaller than Cree’s XLamp XB package. The ceramic-based
XQ LEDs leverage Cree’s SC3 Technology™ Platform... Seoul Semiconductor Targets the LED Outdoor and Streetlight Markets with a New Multi-junction MJT 4040 LED PackageMarch 22, 2013...>Seoul Semiconductor has announced the new MJT 4040 package which uses the
company’s Multi Junction Technology. The company also announced it
recently won a retrofit project for streetlights using this new product in
China. The multi-junction technology in the MJT 4040 that allows multiple LED
junctions (p-n junctions) to be combined in a single chip. This increases the
operating voltage and concentrates more light output within a given area.
Instead of using the more common 2-3...
