Hubbell Lighting of Greenville, South Carolina USA, announced that the company plans to market two new lighting products for patient rooms at healthcare facilities. The company has debuted the Evexia and MediMode that it says eliminate the need to compromise on luminaire performance or aesthetics. In addition to enhancing energy efficiency and reducing maintenance costs, the LED lights improve operations resulting in savings.
The new LED luminaires add to Hubbell broad range of LED lighting fixtures for use in Healthcare facilities including recessed office space troffers, downlights in the lobby, exterior pole lights, emergency lighting, and parking garage fixtures.
“We have focused on the needs of the patient, medical personnel, and facility management to create solutions that support the healing process and respond to the operational concerns of these facilities,” said John Hollander, director of brand development at Hubbell Lighting. “In the patient room specifically, the lighting must support tasks that range from a patient reading a magazine to a physician conducting a critical medical evaluation. This can only be accomplished with luminaire designs that are more architectural and less institutional in appearance – responding to the movement of a more inviting and relaxed environment for the patient.”
Evexia™ LED Patient Bed Light
Hubbell Lighting designed the Evexia to meet the demanding requirements healthcare environments such as examination spaces and patient rooms. Specifically, the company created the Evexia to illuminate the patient bed environment.
According to Hubbell, the Evexia luminaire’s contoured shape enhances performance and simplifies cleaning. Furthermore, an antimicrobial finish comes in three standard colors. Die-cast end-caps and an extruded aluminum body make the Evexia highly durable. The fixture offers ambient and reading illumination with optional night light and comes with multiple switching and control options.
MediMode™ Multi-Function Recessed Patient Light
The MediMode serves as a multi-function recessed patient light. Hubbell designed the MediMode to addresses the ambient, reading, and examination needs of a patient environment. Hubbell says that MediMode balances the need for visual comfort and the requirement of high-quality illumination for critical tasks.
Indirect optical compartments offer soft, low-glare reading and ambient light. A separate compartment delivers over 100 footcandles of uniformly distributed light on the bed surface for patient examination.
The MediMode comes in both 2×4 and 2×2 sizes, and an optional full-lensed door is available with perimeter screws (IP 65 and NSF2 rated) or a stainless steel hinge (IP 65 rated).
The fixture’s four modes of operation, reading, ambient, exam, and optional night light in white (3000K) or amber (590 nm) fit a range of illumination requirements.
A standard antimicrobial compound additive on all exposed painted surfaces inhibits the microbe growth. Hubbell says that the design of the MediMode provides easy access to the gear tray and LED board assembly. The MediMode’s Low Voltage Controller enables multiple switching and control options.
