Power management company Eaton has launched Portfolio 2-inch, a line of square and round aperture, LED downlights for retrofit and new construction installations. The new downlights come in four beam distributions. The company says that they offer excellent light control and feature low aperture brightness for glare-free illumination.
The features and options include Eaton’s Dim-to-Warm (D2W™) technology and the downlights can be integrated with the company’s WaveLinx and LumaWatt Pro connected lighting systems.
Dimming most LED products diminishes the light output but doesn’t alter the color as it does when dimming conventional incandescent light sources. However, Eaton designed the D2W technology to perform comparably to popular halogen sources. The company’s proprietary dimming technology offers clean, crisp light at full power of 3000 Kelvin (K) and dims smoothly to 1850K, which generates a rich, warm glow, resembling candlelight.
Broad Variety of Features Available
Customers have numerous choices when selecting from the Portfolio 2-inch family to satisfy specific application needs. The 2-inch downlight family comes with lumen packages of 500, 1000, 1500, and 2000 lumens. The downlights come with beam distributions of 15-, 25-, 40- or 55 degrees in a choice of six color temperatures including 2400K, 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K and 5000K. CRI options include minimums of 80, 90, and 97. An emergency battery back-up option is also available
The round housing of the product line accepts both the square or round trims. The trims boast high-quality die-cast construction and the trims can work with the new product line mounted as either a downlight or a wall wash luminaire.
Eaton also offers the option to include its WaveLinx wireless system that allows building managers to easily adjust settings through a mobile app. According to Eaton, the WaveLinx provides a simple to install, wireless, code-compliant, and cost-effective connected lighting system.
The system can help customers maximize potential energy savings by incorporating the Portfolio 2-inch fixtures in a distributed network of smart LED lighting fixtures with wireless sensing capabilities. The wireless sensing offers building system integration that can capture real-time data on lighting energy performance, space utilization, real-time location services.
