Future Lighting and Quantum Lighting Develop New LED Retrofit

September 3, 2010... Provider of LED lighting components, Future Lighting Solutions has joined with the Hong Kong-based Quantum Lighting Products, for developing an LED replacement for E26-base incandescent lights.

The energy-efficient, long-lasting LED retrofits use LUXEON Rebel LEDs, and are available throughout Japan under the brand name Elpa. The retrofits are offered in four warm and cool white models that are ideal replacements for 60 W and 40 W incandescent bulbs.

The LED lights were developed by Quantum Lighting for Asahi Electric. Future Lighting offered engineering assistance that includes thermal management and input on the LED board layout. Future Lighting also delivered inventory management services to make sure that Quantum obtained LEDs from specific forward voltage, flux and color, for uniform performance and appearance.

Every 5.5W or 4W LED retrofit bulb includes five or three LUXEON Rebel LEDs. It consumes only 1 out of 10 times the energy consumed by an incandescent bulb. The LED bulb offers a maximum life time of 40,000 hours.

Quantum Lighting’s Managing Director, Thomas Chan stated that they were able to develop a reliable product without any unnecessary development cycle, in partnership with Future Lighting.
