Author: SSLDesign News Staff
July 16, 2010... Oxford Downtown Development Authority (DDA) and the Village of Oxford chose Relume Technologies, a leading producer of LED products and smart grid control systems, to convert 83 existing streetlights in its historic downtown to Relume’s LED globe fixtures.
The Oxford Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is dedicated to the physical and economic development of the downtown Oxford area while continuing to preserve its historical heritage. The downtown area in the Village of Oxford offers visitors a unique shopping experience with a variety of specialty stores, galleries, and eateries.
Funds from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation’s (MEDC) Downtown Urban Revitalization Grant will help Oxford DDA and the Village of Oxford large-scale LED streetlight project. Relume indicated that the project is scheduled to be completed this fall.
Relume says that its LED outdoor lights use 40 percent of the electricity of conventional streetlights and last up to six times longer.
