July 10, 2008... Acclaim Introduces X-Bar HIP IP-Rated Exterior LED Wall Wash in AC & DC Versions

Los Angeles California USA--The new X-Bar HIP from Acclaim Lighting gets its name because it’s a High-performance, IP-rated fixture. But this amazing new LED bar is “hip” for other reasons too, like its sleek, compact profile, which keeps it “out of sight” as it tackles a wide range of interior/exterior architectural wall washing applications. The X-Bar HIP is also “hip” to lighting users’ many needs, because it comes in a variety of different versions: both AC and DC models in RGB (red-green-blue color-mixing), CW (cool white) or WW (warm white).

All versions of the X-Bar HIP are equipped with 36 high-power 1W Luxeon LEDs, which work with its standard lenticular lens system to produce a 10 x 40 beam angle. This means you can set this narrow bar right up against the wall, and it will evenly light an area as large as a 10’ x 40’, making it ideal for long throw wall wash applications. All versions of the X-Bar HIP are DMX compatible and feature built-in programs and dimming.

The AC version comes with its own internal power supply and can take direct power/data. Linkable up to 20 units in a line from 100-120v or 40 units on 208-240v, it can be controlled via DMX to create customized lighting programs, or with Acclaim’s XBR1 set-up controller to access its built-in programs. Rugged and durable, the X-Bar HIP AC is rated at a hardy IP 65, so it can withstand dust and precipitation, making it the perfect lighting solution for large building exteriors, as well as interior wall lengths.

Like its AC counterpart, the DC version is also outdoor-worthy with an IP 65 rating. Additionally, the X-Bar HIP DC is available in an even tougher IP 68 marine-grade finished model that’s ideal for underwater and seaside applications. Featuring an external power supply, the DC version can be run up to three units on Acclaim’s X-Power HP48V driver and controlled via DMX. As another operating alternative, users can select built-in programs and dimming levels directly from the driver/power supply.

In both the AC and DC versions, the X-Bar HIP offers three color options to choose from: X-Bar HIP RGB, equipped with 12 each red, green and blue 1W LEDs which can create millions of colors through additive RGB color mixing; X-Bar HIP WW warm white (3200K); or X-Bar HIP CW cool white (6000K). The X-Bar HIP AC warm white version is available only through special order, as are the X-Bar HIP DC warm white and cool white versions, while all the other models are in stock.

“One of the nice things about the X-Bar HIP is that there are different versions available to meet a variety of applications and color specifications,” said Eric Loader, director of sales for Acclaim Lighting. “What’s also really great about the AC version in particular is its built-in power supply and ability to take direct power and data, and the fact that you can link up to 20 units. Lighting up to 200 linear feet of wall from one 10A circuit is unheard of! With its beam angle, this is truly an amazing fixture for long throw wall washes.”

Another “hip” thing about the X-Bar HIP is its environmentally-friendly, energy-efficient LED light source. Each fixture consumes only 50W of power, and its LED lamps will stay burning bright for 50,000 hours under normal use.

The X-Bar HIP measures 39.37”L x 2.44”W x 3.78”H. The AC version includes one 8-pin IP-rated end plug and weighs 6.6 lbs. The DC version weighs 4.4 lbs.

The MSRP of the X–Bar HIP AC version is $1,000. The MSRP of the X-Bar HIP DC version is $850.00 For more information, contact Acclaim Lighting at 323-317-9800
