Luminus Devices Hires Jim Hunter as Vice President and General Manager, Global Commercial Markets

August 24, 2010... Hunter Brings More Than a Decade of Senior Level Management Experience to Luminus from Philips Lighting North America

Billerica, Massachusetts USA--Luminus Devices, Inc., developer and manufacturer of high light output, PhlatLight® LEDs, today announced that Jim Hunter has joined the company as vice president and general manager, Global Commercial Markets. Hunter will be responsible for increasing Luminus’ presence in the general lighting, ultra-violet (UV) and display lighting markets. He joins Luminus from Philips Lighting North America where he held several senior management positions in the company’s one billion dollar lighting division.

As vice president of marketing for Philips Lighting and area marketing officer for Philips North America, Hunter managed a team of 70 marketers split between channel marketing, marketing communications, market intelligence and pricing. Prior to this role, Hunter held several senior level marketing positions at Philips Lighting in both the United States and Canada.

Hunter started his career in Canadian consumer marketing before making the switch to the lighting industry, with positions at Scott Paper, Associated Brands and Nabisco. He received a Masters in Business Administration at York University and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Guelph.
