The Lighting Industry Association (LIA) and the BSI Group (British Standards Institution) announced a new agreement which will allow both organizations’ customers to benefit from their expertise and specializations.
LIA says that the agreement gives lighting manufacturers a clear and efficient road to achieving a variety of product UK, EU and world-wide approvals through the LIA Laboratory. These product certifications include the British Standards Institution Kitemark™, a highly recognized symbol of quality and safety around the world.
Steve Davies, LIA CEO commented, “This agreement cements the position of LIA Laboratory as the leading provider for testing and certification within the lighting industry and we are proud to be associated with BSI to support the sector.”
Greg Childs, Certification Team Manager from the UK standards organization concluded, “With this agreement and relationship, the LIA join a small select group of organizations who meet the exacting standards required by BSI for the organizations that we work with. This new relationship will mean we can now have a truly joined up approach in offering services to the lighting industry including the prestigious BSI Kitemark.”
