BACnet International, an industry association that promotes the BACnet protocol for building automation, reports that Osram has joined the BACnet community as a Silver member. Osram joins more than 125 other companies who use and promote the BACnet building automation protocol. BACnet International manages the operation of the BACnet Testing Laboratories (BTL) and keeps a global listing of BTL-certified products.
The Building Automation Control Network, (BACnet for short) is a both an international (ISO) and ANSI protocol for data communication enabling interoperability among building automation devices.
Osram offers its ENCELIUM light management system which is BTL Certified, and ENCELIUM utilizes the BACnet protocol.
